1.AIIB approves $ 145 million irrigation, $ 65 million solar investments in India

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s (AIIB) Board of Directors has approved a USD145-million loan to India to improve irrigation service delivery and strengthen flood risk management in West Bengal. Earlier this month, AIIB President Jin Liqun also approved a USD 65-million 250-megawatt (MW) solar power project in Jodhpur.

5.Mangalore Airport improves rating

After disappointing flyers in 2013, the Mangalore airport has bounced back this year by improving its standing from a dismal 27 to 14 in an official survey of 51 small airports. According to the bi-annual customer satisfactory survey conducted by Airports Authority of India (AAI) in small airports with less than 15 lakh passengers a year, the Mangalore airport received 4.38 points in a scale of five, while the toppers Jodhpur airport received 4.71 and Trichy 4.69.

10.Welspun starts 15 mw solar PV project

This project is the first of the three projects totalling 50 MW that WEL’s subsidiary had won under competitive bidding for batch-2, Phase-I of national solar mission. The projects, coming up in Jodhpur district, are expected to generate a total electricity capacity of 90 mn kWh per year
