To drive an industrial development across Karnataka, the state government has approved 1,958 projects with an investment of Rs 3.5 tn. Karnataka is expected to be the first state in India in FY2018-19 in attracting such investments.
The Rs 230-bn suburban railway corridor project has been approved by the Karnataka Government. The four-corridor project has a total length of 161 km, and will have two dedicated tracks on either side of the existing railway line.

The exit road from Mangaluru International Airport to the city has been recently inaugurated by the Karnataka Government. The process of constructing the 1.12-km-long exit road from the terminal building of Mangaluru airport began in 2013.
