Mumbai likely to have its Metro rail service by this year end, said the project executing company Reliance Infrastructure on August 27. The company added that it is waiting for requisite approvals. The firm is planning expansion of the metro line. Once it started, the Mumbai Metro rail can accommodate seven lakh passengers a day.
Chennai is to get its first underground metro rail service – an 8-km-stretch from Koyambedu to Nehru Park – in the first quarter of 2017, making about 70 per cent of Phase-I of the service operational.
