The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) has given a nod for four highway projects aggregating to more than Rs 2,500 crore in five states, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Muzaffarpur Ltd has plans to take over the power distribution in Muzaffarpur,under its flagship brand ´Smart Utilities´. The company will undertake activities related to the distribution of power, including network operations and maintenance, customer care, improving and augmenting network capacity.
Hope for a new and shorter rail route from Chhapra to Muzaffarpur has brightened with the railways sanctioning Rs 5 crore for land acquisition purposes. Distance from Chhapra to Muzaffarpur through the existing route is about 120 km; but if this new project is commissioned, the distance can be reduced to about 78 km only, connecting several villages.
Airports Authority of India plans to develop the Indian Air Force airport at Bihta in Bihar, for international operations. AAI has requested for an additional 600 acre for the first phase of the project and 790 acre for the second phase in lieu of existing Patna airport.
