Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd (PSCDCL) and Global Compact Network India (GCNI) have signed a five-year MoU to prepare a framework of governance for Pune Smart City through compliance and procurement management as well as PPP module to develop Pune as a world-class city under the Smart Cities Mission.
Google has been awarded the Wi-Fi deal for the Pune Smart City Development Corporation (PSCSCL), the SPV that has been created for the smart city project in Pune. It will work with companies like Larsen & Toubro, IBM and RailTel for what is the first such deal. The contract given to Google is reportedly valued at Rs 150 crore.
Pune Smart City aims to use an ‘integrated approach’ to provide solutions. Dr Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, Pune Smart City Development Corporation (PSCDC), elaborates, “Through a state-of-the-art command and control centre and revolutionary traffic management system, the city aims to integrate various authorities under one centralised control.”
