Vizag Port to commence cruise, cargo terminal works

Vizag Port will take up the construction of a cruise and coastal cargo terminal worth Rs 770 mn in the coming months, with financial assistance from the Centre. The Ministry of Tourism has reportedly agreed to bear half the cost needed for the project as a grant.

At Visakhapatnam, the project launch included an upgradation of existing iron ore handling facility at Vizag Port at Rs 5.80 bn involving modernising and upgrading the old iron ore handling facility to handle larger vessels.


Essar Port to complete Rs 830 crore expansion at Vizag terminal

The Vizag port run by the Essar Group will reportedly be shutting its operation for a week prior to the commissioning of a new 8,000-tonne per hour ship loader. As per reports, the commissioning of the ship loader is part of the port's Rs 830 -crore modernisation and expansion project.
