Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone is in plans to invest as much as Rs 575.94 bn to expand the capacity of India’s biggest commercial port it runs at Mundra in Gujarat.
At present, the port has an approval of handling 225 MT
The foundation stone has been laid for a greenfield commercial port near Kona village in Andhra Pradesh. The port is expected to be constructed by GMR Kakinada Gateway Port at Rs 30 bn.
Construction work for Subarnarekha Port in Odisha will begin soon at a cost of Rs 40 bn. Out of 961.18 acre that is needed for the project, the state has already sanctioned 692.68 acre.
Essar Ports is in talks with the Gujarat Maritime Board to set up a greenfield commercial port in the state´s Devbhoomi Dwarka district.
Andhra Pradesh Government will develop 14 minor ports under PPP mode in addition to the existing non-major ones.
The work on the Rs 1, 000 crore commercial port to be built at Ponnani in Malappuram district has been formally kicked off. The port, being built by Malabar Port in partnership with the state government, is expected to be operational in three years.
