1.Mysore Road stretch in Blore to be made into one-way

To de-congest traffic on Mysore Road in Bangalore, a section of the busy main road will be made into a one-way. The BBMP is in the final stages of construction of a ramp over the drain near Gali Anjaneya Temple which joins Mysore Road from Chord Road.


2.JNPT to de-congest approach road

As part of its measures to de-congest the port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) decided to segregate trucks without proper documents and move them to a parking area. The move is expected to clear the approach roads for trucks with correct documents for shipment to reach the terminals on time. This comes after the port realised that the congestion on its approach roads was caused by un-documented export containers taken to the privately operated APM Terminal.


3.Express way to decongest Delhi roads, Rs 621 cr cleared

The Delhi Cabinet has cleared Rs 621 crore for acquiring land for the eastern and western peripheral highways project to de-congest Delhiā€™s roads by diverting inter-state traffic not destined for the Capital. Land acquisition cost has gone up from an initial Rs 844 crore, estimated in 2007, to almost Rs 2,500 crore.


4.Govt to develop 8 urban clusters to decongest Blore

To de-congest its gridlocked capital Bangalore, the Karnataka government is planning to develop small cities around Bangalore into industrial clusters. For this, the government has conceptualised an innovative urban development project. The project includes a suburban rain system with an expected cost of Rs 8759 crore.
