2.Smart cities: Govt to allow private sector participation

The government is in the process of finalising its policy for implementing its ambitious plan of converting 100 existing cities into smart cities. It intends to allow private sector participation in these projects on a large scale. The government is also looking at building bylaws and floor area ratio norms closely to optimise utilisation of the existing land in the country.
