India’s biggest floating solar power plant of 150 MW will be set up at the Rihand Dam in Uttar Pradesh as the government has decided to opt for green energy. The state government has also formulated the Electric Vehicle Policy, inviting entrepreneurs to set up units in the state.
Belectric’s Indian unit – Belectric Photovoltaic India – will be building and commissioning 26 MW of rooftop PV plants in India on behalf of Singapore-based solar power plants developer Cleantech Solar.
A grid-connected rooftop solar power plant has been installed for the first time in the state at the residence of Thokchom Jotin Singh, Kongpal Kongkham Leikai, Imphal East. The Manipur Government has been working to install a number of rooftop solar power plants whose total installed capacity would be 5 MW within the Twelfth Plan period under MNRE.
Viviana Mall in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) recently inaugurated the 900 KVA rooftop solar power plant at the rooftop of the mall. This initiative has made it the first mall to generate 91,000 watt in a month through solar energy. This is in sync with the initiative of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision to raise renewable capacity to 175 GW by 2022 from 45 GW at present.
