Govt, AAI agree to exchange land for airport expansion

The Airports Authority of India and the Bihar Government have agreed in principle on exchanging 13.5 acre for expansion of the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport terminal building. AAI will spend Rs 850 crore on the new two-storey building with aerobridges. Work on the new terminal building is expected to commence in July next year.

AAI will provide the required funds and develop the infrastructure as well. The first block of the new terminal building with the capacity to accommodate 15 lakh passengers per annum will be completed by mid-2019.
