Jewar Airport to bring Uttar Pradesh cities closer to NCR

Under UDAN, cities in Uttar Pradesh such as Allahabad and Kanpur will be closer to NCR due to the Jewar International Airport. Apart from that, it will also benefit neighbouring locations such as, Shimla, Ludhinana, Pathankot, Gwalior and Adampur. The state reportedly expects air traffic in Uttar Pradesh to increase once the airport becomes operational by 2022-23. The Jewar Airport will comprise of 88 per cent domestic air traffic, with the remaining being international.
