10 new flyovers on state highways approved by Gujarat Government

The Gujarat Government will be reportedly building 10 new flyovers on state highways. For the construction of 10 new flyovers on state highways, the Gujarat Government has reportedly allocated a budget of Rs 4.87 billion. The flyovers aims to ease traffic congestion issues at different locations in major cities of Gujarat.

Besides, the government is also expected to construct flyovers at many busy junctions on the state highways. The 10 new flyovers on the state highways will reportedly come up in the first phase of the plan. The flyovers will be constructed at different locations including north, south and central Gujarat and Saurashtra regions as well.

These flyovers will be reportedly constructed at Borsad on Anand-Karamsad highway, Dethli crossroads near Sidhpur, Navjivan crossroads in Patan, Bhuj-Lakhpat road, Modhera crossroads in Mehsana, Kadodara junction in Surat, Madhapar Junction in Rajkot, Raksha Shakti Circle in Gandhinagar, Gandhidham near Takor and Sindbad crossroad in Kalol.

That said, the government has reportedly approved the project work of widening of highway between Mehsana and Palanpur. In order to decongest traffic on SH-41, the state government will be widening the 61-km-long stretch.

The traffic congestion is higher on SH-41. This highway connects Gujarat with Rajasthan and Delhi. Also, vehicles from Mumbai to North India pass through the same highway. Major towns such as Mehsana, Unjha, Sidhpur and Palanpur fall on the highway. The local traffic, in addition, adds to the congestion. Hence, the Gujarat Government has approved the widening of the four-lane highway to six-lane.
