The Shipping Ministry has approved a bail-out plan for stressed public-private partnership (PPP) projects of major port trusts, in addition to identifying stressed projects. The ministry has come up with a three-point formula to save stressed PPP projects, caused by high storage charges, which includes an extension of the free storage period. Three projects at Deendayal Port Trust and four at Visakhapatnam Port Trust will benefit from the move.
