Chennai Road to be ready by June

The Chennai Peripheral Road is expected to be ready by July this year according to its detailed project report (DPR). An amount of Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the feasibility study of the project and the fine tuning of the alignment is in progress. The road is mainly targeted to cater to freight movement of goods coming from southern parts of the state to reach the Ennore port. With the assistance of this road, vehicles will not have to go through the city of Chennai.
