Foreign entities bid for mega road project

Thirteen companies, including three foreign entities each from Britain, France and Australia, have evinced interest to bid for country's first mega road project worth Rs 5,700 crore. The project will cover Rajasthan and Gujarat. The bids for the 570 km highway project, from Kishangarh near Jaipur in Rajasthan to Ahmedabad in Gujarat through Udaipur, were invited by NHAI in May. Australian firm Leighton, Britain's Balforur Beatty and Vinci of France in consortium with Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) have submitted their bids for the project.
