Atul Punj, Chairman & Managing Director, Punj Lloyd Group, and Mufat Singh Rao, Chairman, Varaha Infra, are together making headlines for their recently bagged (in a JV) Rs 1,200-crore highway project in Myanmar. Awarded by NHAI, its first outside India, the project entails the construction of a 112-km two-lane road connecting Kalewa and Yagyi. With a total length of 1,360 km, the IMT highway will link Moreh in India to Mae Sot in Thailand via Myanmar. Part of the India-Myanmar-Thailand highway, which aims to provide seamless vehicular movement between SAARC and ASEAN nations, Punj and Rao for sure have a mission - to enhance trade, business, health, education and tourism between India, Myanmar and Thailand.
