World’s longest expressway project worth Rs 360 bn approved
The project is expected to be stretched over 6,550 hectare at an estimated cost of Rs 360 billion. On completion, the Ganga Expressway will reportedly be the world’s longest expressway of around 600 km. The expressway is expected to connect Meerut, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Kannauj, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and arrive at Prayagraj. The entire stretch of the expressway will be reportedly connecting Greater Noida to Ballia in Uttar Pradesh. Also, it will connect Delhi to Varanasi and Prayagraj. Other than high-speed connectivity, the project is also expected to generate new employment opportunities.
Besides, the Yogi Adityanath cabinet has also approved a 91-km Purvanchal Expressway link road to Gorakhpur.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has reportedly approved the construction of a six-lane Ganga Expressway. Worth Rs 360 billion, the expressway is expected to connect Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh to Prayagraj in the east.
