India-Bangladesh railway link likely to start

An Indian delegation and a Bangladeshi team recently attended the third meeting of the proposed Agartala-Akhaurah railway link project. As part of the project, India will build a 15-km railway line linking Agartala in Tripura with Akhaurah in Bangladesh. The work on this project is likely to start early next year. The detailed project report will be finalised in a month. The project is estimated to cost Rs 252 crore. IRCON will lay the railway tracks on both sides of the border.
