The Maduravoyal-Chennai Port elevated corridor project is expected to have an additional 2 km. The project cost is predicted at Rs 27 bn, excluding relief and rehabilitation (R&R) and land acquisition (LA). The current length of the project will stand at 20.3 km from the previous 18.3 km. The project will have six lanes, after its cross-section gets upgraded. The total cost of Rs 4.7 bn for LA and R&R will be shared by the Chennai Port Trust and the state government on a 50-50 basis.
