GMB posts strong growth in cargo

Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) handled cargo with a 193.18 mn tonne capacity in the third quarter (April 2011 to December 2011) compared with 169.95 mn tonne handled in the corresponding period of the previous year, achieving a growth of 13.66 per cent. The board has been able to attain this growth because of the business’ distinct growth model by policy reforms and harnessing the long coastline with a sea of opportunities along with proactive measures by the state government.
