India, Afghanistan agree on Iran port development

India and Afghanistan have agreed on the tripartite agreement for the development of the Chabahar port in Iran.

The port will provide India with an alternative route to land-locked Afghanistan.The port will also serve as India's gateway to the resource and energy-rich but land-locked countries of central Asia.
