The NHAI is preparing to launch a massive plan to build 22 expressways with an investment of Rs.3.3 tn. It has also decided to form SPVs to meet this fund requirement. The first SPV will be for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The SPV will be wholly owned by the NHAI. This would make it easier for the SPV to get lending from financial institutions, banks, insurance firms, and pension funds as NHAI is a sovereign entity. NHAI may form a single SPV for expressway projects of shorter lengths in the range of 50-150 km. For expressways in the range of 300 km or more, there will be a dedicated SPV for each project.Contact: Rajeev Singh, Chief General Manager (Tech), RO-Mumbai, NHAI.Address: National Highways Authority of India, G 5&6, Sector-10, Dwarka, New Delhi-110 075.Tel: 022-2756 4100.Website: www.nhai.gov.in
