Mangaluru to focus more on fisheries

Mangaluru City Corporation is planning to submit a modified proposal for the Smart City competition with a shift in its focus. This new proposal will focus on fishing activities along with overall development of the city. The corporation has signed an agreement with Lakshadweep administration for the development of Old Port for business activities with the island. Lakshadweep administration has agreed to develop infrastructure at a cost of Rs 70 crore at Old Port area and thereby re-establish the trade relation with Mangaluru.
