The Global Water Solutions debutant - Xylem India gets a ....

Maharashtra, Mumbai.-November 1, 2012: Established on November 1, 2011 Xylem Water Solution India Pvt. Ltd. today announced the successful completion of the first year of its business operations in India. Xylem is a spinoff of the New York based technology company - ITT. With its Technology Centre, manufacturing facility and Xylem's world's largest test facility in Vadodara and strong regional network, Xylem India has successfully addressed critical water-related issues with its vast products and services portfolio for transport, treatment and testing of water to Power, Irrigation, Waste Water Transport and Treatment Systems and Sewage Process in the past one year. The leading global water solutions company, Xylem India has registered an initial growth of INR 5 crores, now INR 180 crores and expects to grow by INR 500 crores, by 2017.

Commenting on the announcement, Sam Yamdagini, President & Managing Director of Xylem Water Solutions India Private Ltd., said: "We are delighted, Xylem has leveraged its advanced technology solutions and deep application expertise to execute various projects in Power, Irrigation and Waste Water Treatment sector to address India's most challenging water and waste water problems". He further added, "We have seen good growth across our broad portfolio of applications and have successfully executed projects enabling our esteemed customers to transport, treat, test and efficiently use water in public utility, residential and commercial building services, industrial and agricultural settings".

Some of the prestigious projects undertaken in its first year by Xylem in India include: supply of largest sea water handling vertical column discharge pumps to Coastal Energen Coal based (Thermal Power Plant) near Tuticorin in Tamilnadu. This project will be completed by end of year 2012. In the Power Sector, pumps for the two water pumping stations of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited's (SSNNL) Kutch Branch Canal (KBC) Lift Irrigation project, will bring water to 279,000 acres of land within 182 Villages in the Kutch District. These pumps will be the largest ever pumps of their kind to be built and/or operated in India, so far. The other prestigious projects under implementation are - the High efficiency pumps for two irrigation projects for the Andhra Pradesh Irrigation and Command Area Development Department. Combined, these two projects will irrigate more than 2.5 lakh acres of farm land in Andhra Pradesh. And the 8MLD ICEAS SBR Treatment system in Talwara - Bakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB) township of Punjab in northern India where the sewage from the township is collectively treated using Xylem SBR technology and treated water is sent for agricultural/ irrigation reuse. Xylem's Flygt« brand will be supplying its super high head dewatering pump to Hindustan Zinc Ltd., to meet their high demanding application of dewatering with a high quantity of barite and waste rock in its waste water. Currently Hindustan Zing have more than 45 nos. of Flygt« mine dewatering pump at their mines situated at Rampura Agucha (largest zinc producing mine in the world), Sindesar Khurd, Rajpura Dariba and Zawar in the State of Rajasthan.
