99% of land acquisition completed for Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train


In Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Kheda, Anand and Navsari, 99.3% of land acquisition has been completed for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project.

The state government told the media that 360.75 hectares of land were to be acquired for the project, from which 358.33 hectares of land had been acquired, and Rs 2,934.96 crore was paid as compensation for the acquired land.

The state government said that in Ahmedabad and Municipal Corporation, the required land for the project was 27.15 hectares, of which 26.43 hectares of land was acquired. The land needed in Sabarmati was 0.14 hectares, and another 0.58 hectares in Ghatlodia.

In Vadodara, the land acquisition was the highest among all the five districts.

According to the government, one hectare of land was pending for acquisition in Padra, and 0.35 hectares in Vadodara East.

According to the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), land acquisition for the entire project in the eight districts, including Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari and Valsad, was 942.50 hectares which were 954.28 hectares and have acquired 98.77% of the land.

The total land to be acquired for the project was 1,396 hectares, from which 1,248.71 hectares of land had been acquired for the project, completing 89.45% of the land acquisition process.

In Maharashtra, the land acquisition was the lowest. From 433.82 hectares, 298.31 hectares was acquired, which was 68.76%.
