ARC Electric partners with Aon plc to promote sustainability
ARC Electric has partnered with Aon plc to advance sustainability in employee transportation by integrating electric vehicles (EVs) into Aon’s operations in India. This initiative aims to notably reduce Aon’s carbon footprint, aligning with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals of both organisations and promoting environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
As a specialist in EV transportation, ARC Electric will replace traditional fossil-fuel-based cabs at Aon with electric vehicles, rolling out the scheme in multiple major cities across India. In the first quarter of 2024, from January to March, ARC Electric provided Aon with EV cabs that collectively covered around 80,000 kilometres, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 12,000 kg—equivalent to saving 462 trees.
Abhinav Kalia, Founder & CEO of ARC Electric, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, calling it a crucial advancement toward their mission of promoting sustainable practices. He noted that ARC Electric’s EVs not only contribute to a greener future but also enhance the ride experience for Aon employees. Manish Gupta, Director of Aon India, and Rahul Kedia, CFO of Aon India, stressed that this collaboration aligns with Aon’s ESG objectives, marking a concrete step towards reducing its carbon footprint and demonstrating leadership in sustainability. They added that the adoption of EVs would also bring economic benefits and improve employee comfort and convenience.
Aon’s adoption of EVs for employee transportation underscores its commitment to corporate responsibility and sustainable practices. With approximately 50,000 employees across 120 countries, Aon aims to lead by example in minimising environmental impact. The use of ARC Electric’s EVs not only supports sustainable transportation but also enhances safety and the ride experience for its employees.
As part of this collaboration, ARC Electric leverages its technological expertise to create a B2B EV platform that optimises the Employee Transportation System (ETS) lifecycle, covering processes from onboarding to scheduling, monitoring, and service improvement, providing Aon with an efficient and sustainable transportation service.
