The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the construction of Ayodhya’s first ring road, aimed at managing rising traffic and improving connectivity following the Ram Temple’s inauguration. With an investment of Rs 39.35 billion, the 67.17-kilometer-long project will link Ayodhya to key cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Raebareli, ensuring smoother traffic flow. 

The ring road will feature two major bridges over the Saryu River, seven flyovers, and four railway overbridges connecting Ayodhya to Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, and Mankapur. Additionally, 16 underpasses will be built at crucial intersections to prevent traffic congestion and ensure uninterrupted movement. 

Divided into two sections — the Northern Ayodhya Bypass (35.40 km) and the Southern Ayodhya Bypass (32.172 km) — the road will have four to six lanes, making travel faster and more efficient. This project is expected to enhance Ayodhya’s infrastructure, reduce traffic, and support tourism and economic growth by improving access to the city’s religious and historical sites.
