BEML Opens Aerospace SEZ Warehouse Near Bengaluru

Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) on Monday inaugurated a cutting-edge warehousing facility at the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board’s (KIADB) Aerospace Special Economic Zone (SEZ), located near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru.

Spanning 0.12 acres, the facility represents a critical milestone in BEML’s push to support India’s aerospace and defence ambitions.

According to BEML Chairman and Managing Director Shantanu Roy, the new warehouse will serve as a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) services, and global exports. The infrastructure has been designed in alignment with international OEM standards to serve the evolving needs of the sector.

On the same day, the foundation stone was laid for Phase II of the project, which includes an additional 1.15-acre facility in the SEZ. BEML currently holds 25 acres within the SEZ and aims to develop the land into a full-fledged industrial zone catering to the aerospace, air defence, and allied industries.

The SEZ plan also includes a 20-acre dedicated manufacturing unit for next-generation aerostructures, drones, components, and aggregates, reinforcing Karnataka’s efforts to build a world-class aerospace ecosystem.
