Bhoomi Pujan: country 'largest' air cargo at Jewar airport
In a significant development, AISATS Noida Cargo Terminal Private Limited and its special purpose vehicle (SPV) conducted the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony on Friday, marking the commencement of construction for a state-of-the-art multi-modal cargo hub at the Noida International Airport in Jewar, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Uttar Pradesh government.
This cargo terminal is slated to occupy an expansive 37-acre area and is poised to surpass all previous terminals in both size and capacity, according to the spokesperson. The establishment of this cargo hub is expected to lead to a substantial increase in exports originating from the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.
The integrated cargo terminal and logistics park, situated at the airport, is a pivotal project that aligns with the vision of Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath. Beyond its immediate benefits, this facility is poised to play a crucial role in connecting ASEAN countries and supporting the proposed India-UAE-Europe Economic Corridor, as stated by the government.
This development reflects the government's commitment to enhancing cargo and logistics infrastructure, thereby fostering economic growth and trade connectivity in the region.
