BMC to finish city road works by Friday
The BMC administration has stated that they expect all ongoing road-related works to be finished by May 31, with the stretches being prepared for traffic movement by June 7. Following a recent inspection of road works in R-South and R-Central wards in the western suburbs, additional municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar instructed all relevant departments to collaborate to ensure there would be no delays or compromises in the quality of the works.
Bangar mentioned that in cases where road work remained incomplete, the contractor would be replaced, and a new contractor would be appointed to complete the work. He further stated that the entire cost of the work would be reclaimed from the initial contractor. Bangar also requested an assessment of the road works to be conducted on May 28 and issued notices to contractors in cases where progress was deemed unsatisfactory.
