BMW Industries to Expand Steel Manufacturing in Jharkhand
BMW Industries Limited is set to establish a Downstream Steel Complex in Bokaro, Jharkhand — India’s second-highest steel-producing state. The project aims to enhance its presence in downstream steel processing with:
300,000 TPA of Cold Rolled Full Hard Coil/Sheet 540,000 TPA of Galvanized Coil/Sheet 200,000 TPA of Color Coated Coils/Sheets
The Rs 8.03 billion ($97 million) project will be funded through internal accruals and debt. Its strategic location, 300 km from Haldia/Kolkata port, ensures better access to global markets and steady raw material supply.
BMW Industries has received the required environmental clearances and plans to operationalize the plant in stages, with the first unit expected to be commercially functional by FY26.
