CCI Approves Stake Acquisition in Akasa Air by PIOF and Partners


The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of shareholding in SNV Aviation Pvt Ltd (Akasa Air) by a group of investors, including PI Opportunities Fund-I Scheme-II (PIOF), its executives, Claypond Capital Partners, and 360 ONE Private Equity Fund, along with their respective affiliates.

The deal is structured through 360 ONE Alternates Asset Management Ltd, the investment manager acting on behalf of the 360 Fund. About the Entities: – PIOF: A SEBI-registered Alternative Investment Fund offering long-term equity investments with risk-adjusted returns. – Claypond Capital Partners: An affiliate of the Pai Family Group, with investments across diverse sectors. – 360 ONE Private Equity Fund: A Category II AIF with a broad investment mandate across sectors in India and abroad.

Akasa Air operates domestic and international passenger services, along with cargo and allied offerings such as in-flight sales. The transaction reflects continued investor confidence in India’s growing aviation sector. CCI noted that a detailed order on the combination will be issued in due course.
