Centre nods doubling of Neemuch-Ratlam railway line in MP


The centre has approved the doubling of the Neemuch-Ratlam railway line in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of Rs 1,095.88 crore.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur told the media that the project is expected to cost Rs 1,095.88 crore.

The total length of doubling the railway line is 132.92 km, and the project will be finished in four years. The Nimach-Ratlam section line capacity utilisation is up to 145.6% with maintenance blocks, Thakur said.

The double lining project will enhance the capacity of the section, hence, more goods and passenger trains can be introduced to the system.

He said that the Neemuch-Ratlam railway double lining would provide easy connectivity and boost tourism in the region as many historical places including the Fort of Unchagarh, are located here.
