Gopalan Enterprises aims to grow flexible workspace to 12 M sq ft by 2025


Gopalan Enterprises, a conglomerate based in Bengaluru, is involved in various sectors, including real estate, aerospace, hospitality, and education. The company plans to expand the capacity of its flexible workspace business unit, Gopalan Workspace, by an additional 4 million square feet by the end of 2025.

This expansion will bring the total workspace area to 12 million square feet, spread across Bangalore and Mysore, and will include the addition of five new centres to strengthen Gopalan Workspace's presence in these cities.

C. Prabhakar, the Director of Gopalan Enterprises, stated that the demand for office spaces in India is currently at an all-time high. He noted that Bangalore’s thriving startup ecosystem and the influx of Fortune 500 companies are significant drivers of this demand. He emphasized the company's aim to provide high-quality, flexible office solutions that meet diverse business needs.

This investment is in line with the prevailing trends regarding how companies and enterprises are approaching office space in India. Gopalan Workspace currently serves a range of clients, including top Fortune 500 companies. The company plans to invest Rs 1 billion to reach its target and enhance its capacity to meet the increasing demands of businesses.

A recent study has indicated that the coworking and office space market in India is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% from 2023 to 2028, highlighting the opportunities present in the market.
