CM Saini unveils Rs 550M projects to boost Panchkula infra
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 553.8 million in Panchkula, with a focus on transforming the city into a smart urban hub.
The key highlight was the Rs 500 million Ghaggar river bridge—spanning 360 metres long and 16 metres wide—part of the PR-7 Ring Road. The bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity to Zirakpur, Rajpura, Patiala, and Chandigarh airport, easing traffic flow and reducing travel time.
Saini also launched two new dispensary buildings in Sectors 28 and 31, with a combined cost of Rs 46.4 million, and laid the foundation stone for a Gram Sachivalaya at Kanouli village in Barwala, worth Rs 7.4 million.
In addition, Rs 50 million was allocated for development works across villages in the Panchkula assembly constituency. The CM also mentioned ongoing projects including the Sanskrit college and the Shri Mata Mansa Devi corridor.
Future plans include water infrastructure upgrades—new pipelines to carry Bhakra canal water from Chandigarh, treatment plants, and beautification of local water bodies.
