Coal India Sets Up Subsidiary for Coal-to-SNG Business


Coal India Ltd (CIL) has incorporated Coal Gas India Ltd, a subsidiary aimed at developing the coal-to-synthetic natural gas (SNG) business. The new entity will focus on manufacturing SNG and other chemical products, leveraging coal gasification technology.

Global Expansion: Business activities in India and overseas

GAIL JV: A joint venture with GAIL was approved by DIPAM and NITI Aayog last year

Industry Role: CIL accounts for 80% of India's coal production
