Crown Co-operative Plot Holders' to demarcate its 317 plots

The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) had forced the Crown Co-operative Plot Holders' Association to demarcate 317 plots. Many plot owners cannot construct houses on their plots for the last six years.

The secretary of the association, Kiran Lanjewar, said that the association requested the NIT officials to approve the revised layout plan. The documents include demarcation of the plots and layout by the city survey.

The NIT officials assured the association that they would visit the site to check demarcation.

He said that the association has spent around Rs 4 lakh for the demarcation process. It generated the money from the plot owners who dream of constructing houses on the plots.

The layout plan, which has an area of 67,461.8 sq m, was laid in 1996 at Chinchbhavan. In 2021, the NIT has regularised the plots under the Gunthewari Act, along with the approval of the layout plan.

Earlier, NIT allegedly constructed a tank on the plot assuming it to be a public utility (PU) land. However, it did not identify the exact location of the PU land. NIT did not inform them about the tank to the association.

The association, in return, did the demarcation of the plots to know about the tank on the plots. Besides taking action, the association shifted the road and submitted a revised plan to resolve the issue.

Over the last one and a half years, the case is still pending after the government removed the powers of the town planning of the NIT.
