A high-level delegation led by Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), along with Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD of NICDC, visited the K-tech MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence for IoT & AI in Bengaluru. The visit aimed to engage with deep tech startups and incubation leaders, assess the innovation ecosystem, and explore potential policy interventions to drive faster growth.
The Centre of Excellence, India’s largest deep tech innovation hub, connects startups, enterprises, academia, and government agencies to address real-world challenges using advanced technologies including IoT, AI, Data Science, AR/VR, Big Data, Machine Learning, and Robotics. The delegation engaged with startup founders to understand how these innovations can accelerate manufacturing, logistics, and urban development.
Following the Bengaluru Investors Roundtable, Shri Bhatia conducted an on-ground review of the Tumakuru Industrial Area—part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP). Phase A of the project spans 1,736 acres and includes key infrastructure such as internal roads, utility corridors, and drainage systems.
At a meeting with contractors Larsen & Toubro (EPC) and HaskoningDHV (PMC), officials received updates on project progress and milestones. L&T assured that construction timelines would be expedited to enable industrial land allotment by year-end.
The Secretary emphasised the need for timely execution and adherence to quality standards to position Tumakuru as a destination for global and domestic investments in sectors such as electronics, clean tech, logistics, and automotive.
The delegation also visited Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development Pvt Ltd and the Devanahalli Aerospace SEZ, followed by a walkthrough of Dynamatic Technologies, a key player in aerospace manufacturing. These visits offered insight into India's advanced manufacturing capabilities and its strengthening role in global supply chains.
A review meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Dr Selvakumar S, Principal Secretary, Government of Karnataka; Dr Mahesh M, MD, KIADB; Smt Shubha Kalyan, District Magistrate of Tumakuru; and senior NICDC and state officials to ensure alignment and progress.
Shri Bhatia urged all participants to leverage the intersection of industrial infrastructure, innovation, and targeted policy support to catalyse investment and enable export-led growth.
