GSECL invites bids for 4.5 MW of grid-connected solar projects

The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has floated a tender for grid-connected solar projects of 4.5 MW. A 2 MW solar project will be developed at Sikka thermal power station and a 2.5 MW solar project at Gandhinagar thermal power station in the Jamnagar district. The pre-bid meeting is going to be held on September 2, and the deadline for submitting bids is 13 September 2021.

The estimated cost of the projects is Rs 180 million. The bidders should pay an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.8 million. The successful bidder must give 10% of the contract price as a performance bank guarantee within seven working days of accepting the award letter.

The scope of the work includes engineering, procurement, supply, engineering and construction of grid-connected solar projects. The successful bidder should be taking care of the operation and maintenance activities of the projects for ten years and also has to commission the projects within nine months from the letter of award.

The bidders must have designed, supplied, and commissioned grid-connected solar projects with 4 MW or above cumulative capacity and a total of 2.65 MW solar capacity from this, should be commissioned and operated in India, in which one project must be of 1 MW capacity.

The overall revenue of the bidder must be at least Rs 162 million for the last three financial years. Moreover, their net worth should be positive during the previous financial year.

The solar modules that are to be employed should be of minimum 72 cell configuration with a rated power of module over or equal to 300 Wp, as the latest edition of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), 61215 and IEC 61730 prescribed. The modules should be examined by the IEC or a Ministry of New and Renewable Energy-recognized laboratory.

GSECL floated tender for the engineering, installation, design, supply and commissioning of 224 MW of grid-connected solar projects earlier this month, ranging from 10 MW to 55 MW at substations of the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO).
