Gujarat govt announces town planning scheme in two cities


On Sunday, the Gujarat government announced the sanction of the two town planning (TP) schemes, one in Gandhinagar and the second in Rajkot.

The No 26 of the draft of the TP scheme, Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA) and the preliminary TP scheme in No 32 in Rajkot have been sanctioned.

While addressing a meeting, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani asked the urban development department officials to advance the completion of the TP schemes to ensure growth and development in the cities.

The Gandhinagar town planning scheme covers approximately 100 acres areas including Vasna, Uvarsad, Hadmatiya and Vavol.

GUDA has allocated 32,187 sq m of land for public services, 34,738 sq m of open spaces and gardens, and 12,965 sq m of educational land for schools. The preliminary TP scheme of Raiya, Rajkot covers around 367 hectares of area.
