Haryana government plans pipeline delivery of CNG and PNG

The Haryana government is actively working on a comprehensive initiative to provide Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers through a network of pipelines. Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal chaired a review meeting with gas agency officials and representatives to discuss the development of a structural framework for this endeavour.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Kaushal emphasised the need for gas agencies to establish area-wise targets and develop a structured framework within specific timeframes. To facilitate the process, the Industries Department will launch a portal that addresses No-Objection Certificate (NOC) issues and extends necessary support to gas agencies. Additionally, Kaushal directed officers to hold monthly district-level meetings with gas agencies to assess progress and conduct seminars to raise public awareness.

The planned portal will be integrated with various departments, including panchayati raj institutions and urban local bodies, to enable gas agencies to access online facilities related to NOCs. Chief Secretary Kaushal emphasised the importance of promptly establishing gas service clusters and completing pipeline installations to facilitate the construction of CNG stations. The focus will be on prioritising gas services for citizens in the National Capital Region (NCR), and gas agencies are urged to accelerate their work by setting targets throughout the state.

Haryana has already made significant progress in this regard, with 362 operational CNG stations spread across different districts. Furthermore, industrial connections have been issued in multiple cities. Ongoing efforts aim to lay gas pipelines in domestic and industrial areas of Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Mahendragarh, Nuh, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Panipat, Palwal, Sonipat, and Sirsa, ensuring wider access to CNG and PNG services for the people of Haryana.
