Infra-based mutual funds top winners in last 5 years of Modi govt

Infrastructure sector-based mutual funds, including Quant Infrastructure Fund, Invesco India PSU Equity Fund, and Nippon India Power & Infra Fund, have emerged as top performers during the last five years of the Modi government, delivering impressive absolute returns of up to 380%.

This trend underscores the sector's resilience and attractiveness for investors amidst evolving government policies and initiatives aimed at bolstering infrastructure development. Strategic measures such as Bharatmala, Sagarmala, and the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) have stimulated investment and created a productive environment for infrastructure funds to flourish.

Additionally, budget allocations and transparent policies like land acquisition and asset monetisation have further fuelled growth in the sector. Looking ahead, the positive outlook for infrastructure funds is bolstered by on-going government emphasis on infrastructure development and targeted policies in key sectors.

However, investors are advised to conduct thorough research and select schemes carefully to optimise their investment outcomes, considering factors such as risk appetite and investment objectives.
