Jewar International Airport is set to become Asia’s largest airport, with commercial operations expected to begin in April 2025, according to Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. Addressing the Rajya Sabha, Naidu confirmed that preparations are on schedule, with successful validation flights conducted in December. 

Major airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, have expressed interest in launching operations from the new airport, which is expected to enhance global connectivity and establish itself as a key regional hub. 

Situated near the Noida Expressway, Jewar Airport will benefit from improved road connectivity, ensuring seamless transportation for passengers and cargo. Infrastructure upgrades are underway to strengthen accessibility and support high traffic volumes. 

Naidu also announced the extension of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme for another decade, with plans to develop 100 new airports across India. This initiative aims to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen the country’s aviation sector. 

Responding to inquiries, Naidu confirmed that work on Kushinagar Airport is progressing, with operations set to begin soon. This aligns with the government’s broader strategy to expand aviation infrastructure nationwide. 

With Jewar International Airport gearing up for its launch and India’s continued investments in aviation, the country is poised to emerge as a major global air travel hub.
