JNPA, Gandhar Ink MoU for Rs 10B Terminal at Vadhvan Port
To develop a terminal at Vadhvan Port in Mahrashtra, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and Gandhar Refinery.
The proposed terminal will enhance handling of containers, bulk cargo, and liquid cargo, as well as create essential supporting infrastructure. In turn, the port capacity and operational efficiency of the state is expected to improve. The total cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 10 billion.
The agreement aligns with India’s larger maritime infrastructure expansion goals under the Sagarmala initiative, which aims to modernise ports and improve connectivity. The terminal is slated to become operational by 2030.
