JP Nadda Presides Over AIIMS Rishikesh Convocation Ceremony


Union Health Minister Shri JP Nadda presided over the fifth convocation ceremony of AIIMS Rishikesh on 15 April 2025, joined by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other senior leaders. A total of four hundred and thirty-four students were awarded degrees across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Shri Nadda highlighted the government’s commitment to affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare, stressing a comprehensive approach that includes preventive, palliative, curative, and rehabilitative services. He noted that approximately one hundred and seventy-five thousand Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are operational across India.

Over the past ten years: – Medical colleges have increased by one hundred and one per cent – MBBS seats have grown by one hundred and thirty per cent – Postgraduate seats have risen by one hundred and thirty-eight per cent

He also inaugurated new healthcare facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh, including: – Integrated Medicine Unit under the Ayush Department – PET scan machine in the Nuclear Medicine Department – PACS facility in Radiology – Centre for Advanced Paediatrics

Shri Dhami praised the institute’s advanced services such as robotic surgery, neurosurgery, and radiation therapy, and recognised the use of heli-ambulance and telemedicine for remote patient care.
