Kerala Aims to Become EV Manufacturing Hub

Kerala is actively seeking investment in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing from both domestic and international players, with plans to transform its capital, Thiruvananthapuram, into an automotive technology hub. Industries Minister P Rajeeve announced that Kerala currently ranks first in EV sales and has established a robust ecosystem and mechanism for e-charging.

In a bid to attract manufacturers, Rajeeve revealed that the state is in discussions with several companies to set up their manufacturing units in Kerala. Notably, Mahindra is scheduled to visit next week for further talks, along with representatives from other international firms.

With these initiatives, Kerala aims to solidify its position as a leader in the electric vehicle sector and promote sustainable transportation solutions across the region.
