The CM announced on Facebook that the pattayam mela for land allotment will take place on Tuesday across the state in 14 district centres and 77 taluk centres. He also stated that one of the most significant objectives before the government was to offer land to all eligible individuals over the next five years, as well as houses to all Scheduled Caste families within the same time frame.

He added in the post that the scheme to provide Rs 10 lakh for buildings and land for the landless will be expanded to cover more people, and that attempts will be made to provide one acre of agricultural land to all tribal families.

He went on to say that waste land, surplus land, and leased plantations will be used to help tribals resolve their land difficulties, and that attempts would be made to integrate these excluded groups into society.

The Chief Minister claimed that the land allotment to 13,500 persons, rather than the original objective of 12,000, was made possible by simplifying the formalities involved in the procedure. He mentioned that a special land bank will be established to distribute land to the voiceless and landless, and that a computerised survey would be performed to identify the recipients.

The first instalment of Rs 339 crore has been approved for the digital survey as part of the Rebuild Kerala project, and the survey is expected to be finished in four years, according to Vijayan.

The government wants to find more land eligible for distribution to the landless as a result of the survey, he said.

The CM further said that as the Unique Tandapere project has been approved by the central government, more land will be available for assignment to the landless. Further added that steps would be done to locate surplus and illegally held land.

The Chief Minister went on to say that the previous LDF government had given land to a huge number of people who had been denied land ownership owing to technical and legal obstacles.

Between 2016 and 2021, 1.75 lakh pattayams were granted, an all-time high for Kerala, he said.
