Kernex Wins Rs 2.1 Billion DFCCIL KAVACH Contract

Kernex Microsystems (India) Ltd has secured a major railway signalling contract worth Rs 2.1 billion (inclusive of 18 per cent GST) from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL). The company, as part of a consortium, received the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the survey, design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the KAVACH Train Collision Avoidance System, along with towers and associated infrastructure, in the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor.
The contract covers a stretch of approximately 931 km across the New Boraki–New Khurja–New Bhaupur–New Unchdih–New Sonnagar section. The execution period is 730 days from the date of the LoA.
With this award, the total cumulative value of orders received by Kernex, along with its consortium and partners, since 1 April 2024 now stands at Rs 3.35 billion. The project is domestic in nature and does not fall under related party transactions. It is a significant win under India’s ongoing push to modernise and secure rail infrastructure using indigenous technologies like KAVACH, designed to prevent train collisions and enhance safety on busy freight corridors.
