L&T wins contract for Sabarmati depot of bullet train project


L&T Construction's Buildings & Factories Business has received an order from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) to build the Sabarmati Depot (MAHSR-D-2) in Gujarat for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. The contract was bagged as part of a consortium led by Sojitz Corporation, Japan.

The MAHSR-D-2 package project includes the design, procurement, building, testing, and commissioning of an 82-hectare depot. Upon completion, the depot will be the biggest in India set up for this purpose.

For the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, L&T is already completing civil viaduct and station packages C4, C5, and C6, special steel bridge packages P4(X) and P4(Y), and Ballastless trackwork (package No-T3).
